Sale approved for bankrupt North Philadelphia Health System

A bankruptcy judge has given tentative approval to the sale of North Philadelphia Health System’s properties, including the Girard Medical Center, for $10.25 million.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Girard and its associated methadone clinic, the Goldman Clinic, will go to Ironstone Real Estate Partners. The company intends to maintain behavior health and drug treatment services at the property as long as it has an agreement with a care provider.

The hospital and clinic have about 575 employees combined and serve about 1,000 patients daily, with around 200 inpatient admissions. Nearly the entire patient population is made up of Medicaid beneficiaries.
