Editorial: Let the market control, reduce healthcare costs

For all the talk of constantly increasing costs in healthcare, the proposed solutions are as many as the problems. In an editorial in Forbes, libertarian economist John C. Goodman discusses how healthcare costs can be cut: Focus on the healthcare marketplace.

"If third parties were paying all the bills, Rx.com would not exist," he writes. "Nor would MinuteClinic or Teladoc. Nor would Uber-type doctor house calls or uber-type home care visits. There would be no transparency and no price or quality competition in the market for cosmetic or laser surgery."
